Can you help us complete our barn?
With the large numbers of people visiting the site, we have limited sheltered space. Our vision is to build a multi-functional space that can be used for a wide range of activities. This includes:
- Education: we will use the barn’s flexible space for educational activities such as art and cooking classes. The classroom will be used for academic lessons and practical, farm related activities.
- Venue hire: for community groups and private hire. For example, we anticipate use to include conferences, workshops, wedding receptions, team planning days, fitness and wellbeing classes.
- Special events: such as banquets, open cinema, talks, music and spoken word.
What we need
We have already secured a grant from Bank of America Merrill Lynch that has built the foundations, a £50,000 grant from the Trusthouse Foundation and £5,000 towards lighting. We require a further £71,746 to complete the barn.
|Breakdown of costs||Cost £|
|Side cladding and doors||£15,441|
|Remaining funding required||£71,756|
We are looking for corporate partners to sponsor the barn. In return for your support, we are offering various opportunities. For example, publicity at the launch event, use of the barn for private functions, team away days and staff volunteering opportunities on the farm.

We have been fortunate to have pro-bono design support from Feilden Fowles Architects, a practice recently named Young Architect of the Year 2016. The London based practice specialises in the creation of diverse and complex buildings which are highly specific to context and celebrate the peculiarities of each place.
In approaching this project, Feilden Fowles have designed an inspirational space, acting as a gateway to the farm. A range of flexible spaces and zones are created under its canopy, each designed to accommodate different group sizes. These are gathered around a large central space suitable for larger educational uses and events.
